WELCOME TO STANSTED PARK

WELCOME TO STANSTED PARK

Purchased by the 9th Earl of Bessborough in 1924, Stansted Park is a beautiful Edwardian Mansion standing within 1800 acres of extraordinary landscaped parkland and ancient forest.

Groups are welcome to visit Stansted House throughout the year on either a Guided Tour or can enjoy a Free Flow Visit during our public opening hours.

Guided Tours

We offer Guided Tours of Stansted House throughout the year, Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm. Please note that this option is not available on Monday and Tuesday afternoons between Easter Monday to the end of September due to our House opening.

Groups have two tour options to choose from:

Upstairs, Downstairs Guided Tour

Discover the family seat of the Earls of Bessborough and enjoy a guided tour around the magnificent State Rooms and the fully furnished Servants Quarters.

Servants Quarters Guided Tour

Explore our extensive Servants Quarters in more depth and learn about the people who lived and worked on the Estate during this guided tour.

Both tours last approximately an hour and a half and include the historic Chapel of St Paul.

Free Flow Visits

Groups can also enjoy a Free Flow Visit, during our public House opening of Sunday-Tuesday, 1pm-5pm (last admission at 4pm), from Easter Sunday to the end of September.

During a free-flow visit to Stansted Park, groups have with the opportunity to explore the House and Chapel on a self-guided basis. Stansted Park's knowledge volunteer House Stewards will be on hand to answer any questions your group may have as they move around the House at their own pace.
