Servants Quarters Tour

Join us below stairs for a special tour focusing on the lives of the individuals who worked at Stansted Park.

​

During this 90-minute tour, your knowledgeable guide will show you around the extensive Servants Quarters and tell you fascinating stories about those who once used these spaces.

​

From Mollie Plummer, the Head Kitchen Maid who lied about her age to apply for the job, to Kenneth Doel, who entered service at fourteen years old but left Stansted Park at the outbreak of World War Two, this tour will focus on the individuals who played a crucial role in the running of this beautiful country estate.

Access Requirements 

Step-free access is available around the House via a platform stair lift and an Edwardian lift. Please note that due to the size of the Edwardian lift, we are unable to accommodate some motorised wheelchairs or mobility scooters but a manual wheelchair is available to borrow inside the House. There is seating available around the House.
