VOLUNTEERING AT STANSTED PARK

If you are a people person with a positive attitude and some spare time, why not consider becoming a volunteer at Stansted Park?

Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteer House Steward

Our Volunteer House Stewards play a crucial role in bringing the beautiful Grade II* Listed House and the Chapel of St Paul to life. Our House Stewards welcome all visitors to the House and engage them with the fascinating history of the property, collection and wider estate. There is also the opportunity to volunteer as a tour guide and to assist with our events programme throughout the year.

Volunteer Buggy Driver

New for 2025 is our Volunteer Buggy Driver role! If you enjoy speaking to people and spending time outside in the grounds, this is the perfect role for you. Our Volunteer Buggy Drivers will be responsible for driving the accessibility buggy between the Garden Centre Car Park, the Chapel of St Paul and Stansted House; providing greater access for visitors around the grounds during House opening and special events.

Chapel Steward

New for 2025 is our Volunteer Chapel Steward role! Chapel Stewards will be based in the beautiful Chapel of St Paul, located in the grounds of Stansted House, and be responsible with engaging visitors with the history of both the Chapel and Stansted Park. The Chapel is open when the House is open but is also open during special events such as the Stansted Summer Festival.

Garden Volunteer

If you enjoy being outside, our Garden Volunteers would love to meet you. The team are an enthusiastic group who meet once a week to ensure that the gardens at Stansted Park always look beautiful.

Bookshop Volunteer

If books are more your thing, then why not help out in the Stansted Park Second Hand Bookshop? You don’t have to deal with money; regular tasks include sorting out the donations, spotting that rare first edition, and re-stocking the shelves whilst helping customers to find that special book. There’s also the opportunity to volunteer with the pop-up bookshop at special events throughout the year.
